Save the Date for “HABby Hour” at Cayuga Shoreline!
An Evening of Science, Community, and Conversation About Harmful Algal Blooms on Cayuga Lake
We invite you to our very first “HABby Hour” — an informal, informative public event dedicated to understanding Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs) on Cayuga Lake.
When: Tuesday, June 17th, 2025
Time: Doors open at 5:30 PM
Where: Cayuga Shoreline, 7930 County Rd 153, Interlaken, NY
Admission: Feel free to also submit any questions, comments, or concerns you may have about harmful algal blooms in Cayuga Lake.
Since 2018, CSI has worked with volunteers to monitor Cayuga Lake’s shoreline for HABs, collecting important data and helping to protect one of our region’s most cherished natural resources. During HABby Hour, CSI’s experienced staff and dedicated volunteers will be on hand to answer your questions, interpret data trends, and dispel common misconceptions about HABs. This is a unique opportunity to learn directly from the people behind the science.
Enjoy a beautiful evening on the lakefront with complimentary hors d’oeuvres provided by Cayuga Shoreline, and take advantage of the full bar and lunch menu available for purchase. Best of all, a portion of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to CSI in support of our mission to safeguard local water resources through science and community engagement.
Whether you’re a lake resident, a concerned citizen, or just curious about what’s happening in your watershed, we hope you’ll join us for this fun and educational evening.
While registration is not required, a courtesy RSVP is appreciated! RSVP for HABby Hour here.
