Who might be interested in this internship: a) Undergraduate students; b) Individuals with B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. degrees; and c) Anyone interested in learning about certified environmental testing and public science outreach.
Compensation and hours: Internship runs from May 2 to Sept. 2. Some flexibility in start and end dates. Stipend of $5,000 paid in four monthly installments of $1,250 on the first Friday in June, July, August and September, pro-rated for later start date or earlier end date. Full-time, 40 hours/week, M-F. Some flexibility in schedule. Occasional weekend and evening hours.
Required qualifications: Course work or a degree in chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology or related discipline that includes significant “wet” lab experience. GPA of 3.0 or higher in science courses.
Summary: This internship is appropriate for an advanced undergraduate student or a science graduate interested in learning about certified labs and experiencing how good science is practiced in the public domain.
